Time Management as a Business Owner

Dropbox File Management

As a business owner, do you find yourself doing all the things and losing track of time or running out of time?

It’s easy to do! I found myself trapped in the never-ending trap of trying to get everything done before I called it quits for the day.

When I realized I didn’t have to get it all done in one day, it was my goal to help other business owners see the epiphany, too.

The Secret Trick

The trick to being a business owner is time management. It’s that simple! Or isn’t it?

I used to fly by the seat of my pants. As work came in by email, I would print out the email, add it to my pile of work and keep on trucking.

I had no set work hours. I just worked until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore.

As my client load grew, so did my “work mountain”. I knew I had to make a change. I was literally working 24/7 without breaking to eat or sleep. I didn’t leave my house. And I was constantly stressed.

Delegate!

When I meet with prospective clients, I hear a lot of the same… They are doing all of the work. All day. Every day.

I can’t stress enough how important time management is. Delegate! Delegate the workload, and if you just can’t let it go, delegate the time.

Block specific times on your calendar to accomplish X, Y, and Z. Time block a break or lunch. Time block your end time.

The work will still be there tomorrow!

Your business may always be your life, but there is life outside of work!
